SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER
Bestival
Whilst this was all going on, we ran all the bars at little event on the Isle of Wight called Bestival. (!) It was our 6th year to deliver a total of fifteen bars on site, including the popular flag-ship cocktail bars The Black Dahlia and Pink Flamingo. Other bars included the Wonderland Inn with huge furry animals sitting on the bar, the Village Pub serving Bestiv-Ale, space-aged bars for Red Bull and Jim Beam and 90metres of bar to service the newly located main stage, among nine others to service the 45,000 ticket holders.
"It was a fantastic year for us at Bestival. It was so good to see such a great turnout and people enjoying themselves in the good weather despite the current climate. I think being on an island helps people to really escape – we certainly didn’t see people holding themselves back at the bars!"
Many thanks to all the team at Bestival - a challenging, but thoroughly enjoyable week. We are already formulating the master plan for Bestival's 7th birthday in 2010

Peppermint appointed Approved Supplier @ The Boiler House @ Battersea Power Station
Following our success running the bars at this venue for Red Bull X Fighters, we have just been appointed preferred bar suppliers to London's newest and most unique events venue - "The Boiler House @ Battersea Power Station." This venue is open for the next 2 - 3 years before one of Europe's largest re-development projects commences. We are extremely excited to be working alongside 1st Option Management, who represent some of the UK's best event spaces. You can visit their website by clicking here or click here to view the PDF of this amazing venue.
That just leaves Christmas - we're already busy putting together Event and Bar packages for seasonal month of December - its coming around quicker than you think! If you need something totally unique, speak to us - we're bored of the normal, boring venues, themes and venues - contact us we have some great ideas.

We currently in the middle of designing and building some great new bars on behalf of our experiential clients - structures that can be used at a variety of events and festival - but can be carried around the country. Whatever you want, we can do it! We have an excellent in-house design team ready to make your ideas come to life. have a read on our website here about what we do, or give us a call on 0845 226 7845 ext 221.
AUGUST
It was the sixth year for us at Peppermint Shepards Wharf in Cowes this year and once again the week was a resounding success for the crews, friends and families of the competitors of Cowes week, the world’s largest sailing regatta. With the likes of Brian Adams, Zara Phillips and Joe Worsley in attendance, its proof that Peppermint Shepards Wharf was the place to be this Cowes week. For the full Cowes write up visit our blog or look in Hello magazine for the review.
As we were just starting to say goodbye to Cowes, the beginning of August went off with a bang with the Tiesto / Field Day weekender. The Dutch No 1 world DJ came to London and brought along 25,000 adoring fans that stomped till the sun went down in Victoria Park – our favourite London festival site. Field Day followed on the Saturday and went down a storm (no pun intended!) an event with such a cool crowd and eclectic line up – one of our favourites indeed, we cant wait for 2010.
August, traditionally a quiet(ish!) month for us has been full of some new and exciting events, including Red Bull X Fighters, taking the Bacardi Mojito bar to Creamfields and Nottinghill Carnival with Red Bull…
Next stop Bestival and the week long Tower Festival… no chance to breathe just yet!
JULY
July is always a crazy month for us and this year we enjoyed another successful and sunny Saturday for the Duke of Essex Polo Trophy, which saw Katie Price and Kelly Rowland in attendance. The sun was shining and everyone turned out in their best outfits for the cameras. For more click here.
Next up was Glade, our 5th year at the excellent Glastonbury spin off dance festival. This year it changed venues to Matterley Bowl in Hampshire – and for the better we think. "Louder, later, longer" they said – and meant it! Plans already afoot for 2010…
The following weekend saw the return of Bestival’s little sister Camp Bestival returning after the success last year, in the idyllic setting of Lulworth castle in Dorset. Our cocktails from the Bollywood Bar was once again a hit – especially the Bloody Mary’s!
On the same weekend was the crazy Secret Garden Party, themed as Babylon & Eden this year with that famous lake, blatant hedonism and above a great friendly vibe. Oh, and the big fireworks and fire on Saturday night!
In between this we had Hevy Music Festival and Music on the Moor and of course Ben and Jerry’s weekender finished off our July with a great event on Clapham Common which was a scorcher! Good job they had plenty of ice cream…

England & Lions Rugby Internationals set sail for Cowes Week 2009
"Cowes, Isle of Wight: The World cup-winning England International and recent Lions test player Joe Worsley enjoyed some fantastic sailing and entertainment last year in Cowes courtesy of Clipper, Henri Lloyds’s TP52, The Extreme 40’s and Peppermint Shepards Wharf - in order get a feeling for the event and to announce his testimonial year. The Lions’ back row continues his testimonial year by returning to sailing in Cowes week on board one of Clipper Ventures’ Round the World 68ft yachts competing in the Ondeck Ocean Racing Class.
Joe’s testimonial dinner at Twickenham back in October saw eight lucky guests successfully bid an auction to join Joe and fellow England and Lions internationals Simon Shaw and Tim Payne as they compete in Cowes week on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th August. JUNE
Just finished “Polo in the Park” the inaugural Polo event held in the stunning surroundings of Fulham’s Hurlingham Park. An excellent event, which we were thoroughly proud to be involved with and Jack Kidd, Sophie Anderton and Jodie Kidd came down to see what all the fuss was about. We look forward to returning in 2010. Reaching for the hat and the rabbit again, we ran the bars for Beach Break Live a 10,000 strong student event that changed locations from Cornwall to Port Lympne Zoo in Kent 5 days before the event! Everyone pulled out all the stops to make sure that it was a huge success, congrats to Ian and all the team for pulling it off. We’re sure 10,000 students all went home happy (albeit a bit hung-over and tired!). Busy with plenty of summer parties and bar hire’s until the end of the month, then off to Duke of Essex Polo first week in July…. Take a look at our blog for more info or follow us on Twitter here.
MAY
May is traditionally a month of intense planning and completion of various winter projects in preparation for the summer season. We just completed an article in Main Event Magazine about “Last Minute Life Savers” and how we have turned around events in a very short space of time. It’s amazing how much you can pull out of the bag when you are up against it - metaphorical rabbits have been pulled out of hats on several occasions! London bar hires are picking up for the summer season right now and we’re just finalising some exciting events for our Cowes Week event, click here for the full Cowes lineup …Take a look at our blog for more info or follow us on Twitter here.

PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
FROM BAR HIRE LONDON TO EVENT MANAGEMENT AND CONCEPT BARS AT MUSIC FESTIVALS: PEPPERMINT RAISE THE BAR AGAIN THIS SUMMER
Over the winter Peppermint have designed and built several fantastic new themed bar environments for the summer and beyond. Peppermint, who run event enclosures at Cowes week and operate bars at the likes of Bestival, Glade and Secret Garden Party have taken inspiration from these boutique shows and created modular bar environments suitable for any event. For the information pack PDF click here to download.
The details of these unique environments have only just been released; including “Ikasu” a Japanese / Manga concept style bar and “Bula” based around the “Tiki” / Polynesian theme. Also for 2009 is the “Blind Pig” a traditional pub environment, constructed from reclaimed and recycled materials. “Summer Daze” is the quintessential English summer experience, serving Pimm’s, orange squash and summer cocktails – with luxury hammocks, red gingham table cloths and decor and Swingball to enjoy in the sunshine.
Alex Brooke from Peppermint commented: “We wanted to do something fun and unique, something that people will remember. The beauty is that all of these environments are modular and completely scalable for use – whether it’s a front of house public bar or a backstage green room or VIP area – they can even be built inside venues and for corporate events. We’re looking forward to operating these over the summer and beyond – there’s lots of interest.”
Dependant on availability and how you work with Peppermint, these environments could be at your event free of charge. To register your interest and get a full promotional pack contact Peppermint.
