To celebrate Bestival’s 10th birthday, they have pulled out all the stops by announcing Elton John and Snoop Dogg as two of their headlining acts at the 3 day festival. Last year they had the likes of Stevie Wonder, Florence and the Machine and New Order headlining. It’s not surprising that last year they were named the “Best Major Festival” at the UK Festival Awards.
The American rapper, Snoop Dogg, also known as Snoop Lion, has been confirmed to headline on the Saturday, with Sir Elton headlining on the Sunday. This will be Elton’s first performance at a major UK festival. With Sir Elton not being shy to a bit of fancy dress himself, he is said to be very excited about performing to audiences who are dressed up in their thousands. In the 80’s he has performed as Donald Duck at Central Park and has been known to perform in feathered head-dresses, hot pants and clown suits.
“Wearing fancy dress makes us all feel less inhibited so I think it’s a great way to enjoy live music”
We have a lot to look forward to from the 65 year old English singer and songwriter in 2013. As well as Sir Elton headlining at Bestival, he is performing one indoor show at Leeds arena on Wednesday 4th September 2013. Click here for ticket info! It’s also Elton’s 40th Anniversary of his album “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” – So I think we are in for a treat when he hits Bestival this year!
