Described as a “boutique music festival with soul” the fourth Grassroots festival takes place at Val de la Mare in Jersey on Saturday 23rd July.
Last year Grassroots saw headliners Fun Lovin Criminals joined by Platinum selling Jose Gonzalez, Toronto’s Bedouin Soundclash, Tom Frager & Gwayav, Natty and direct from Aotearoa, New Zealand; Wellington’s respected dub’n’bass outfit Rhombus. The festival will also showcased a number of local musicians including The Lloyd Yates Band, acoustic country and folk artist Frankie Davies and 14 year old Issac Evans. The line up for 2011 is soon to be announced.
Tickets are on sale from today at www.grassroots-jersey.com A number of retail outlets on the island including White Label Records, SDS and Freedom will also be selling tickets.

A Greener Festival Awards making the festival in the top 20 greenest festivals in the world.
Green initiatives included the island-wide Grassroots Beach Clean Campaign where any person or business can adopt their favourite beach in Jersey to clean four times a year as a part of the larger Grassroots Beach Clean community, a can and bottle collection scheme in exchange for drink vouchers at the festival, a partnership with Jersey Water to reduce the massive waste from plastic bottles at festivals, extensive recycling schemes, and specifically appointed ‘Green Police’ who help the crowd be a part of the festival’s greening in a fun, relaxed and interactive way.
Grassroots’ sister event Groundswell takes place on the weekend of 17th September near Biarritz in France.
