The head of Standon Calling Festival is Jailed

Today the head of Standon Calling festival Alexander Trenchard was jailed for two and a half years for theft and fraud to fund the event at Aylesbury Crown Court.

After working for Tesco’s since 2002 he used the company credit card to bankroll various elements of the festival it was heard today.

Thought to be around £350,000 – his parents have since paid back the debt to Tescos.

Standon Calling 2011 is still due to go ahead from 11-14 August. No artists have been formally announced for the festival yet.
