Jay-Z is not new to creating disarray and excitement when coming to the UK.
We all probably remember how it went at Glastonbury 2008, when Oasis’ guitarist Noel Gallagher criticised the choice of having Jay-Z as an headliner at the notorious Worthy Farm festival – “I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury”, he commented.
The rapper replied starting his show with a cover of Wonderwall and then reminded everybody “For those that didn’t get the memo, my name is Jay-Z and I’m pretty f***ing awesome!”. Probably most of the people in the crowd had to agree with him.
This year, with his album Magna Carter Holy Grail he reached his first British number one: due to the success and high demand of tickets the organisers were forced to add more dates in the UK and Ireland.
In London he will obviously be performing at the most iconic of the capital’s venue, the O2, which is also one of the biggest arenas in Europe. Today is the first one of the 4 dates in London – let us know if you were there!
