Peppermint Shepards Wharf Refocuses as Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week’s “Crew” Venue
One of the official event sites for Aberdeen Assets Management Cowes Week, Peppermint Shepards Wharf, has carved out a great niche offering a shoreside venue that focuses primarily on sailing crews and their friends and family.
Building on last years success, this year Peppermint Shepards Wharf is making some positive changes to allow berth holders and crews to get even more out of the fantastic atmosphere of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week.
Improvements for this year:
A new relaxed atmosphere – limited live bands this year, favouring a relaxed, but buzzing atmosphere during the day and evening for the crews to recount their exploits on the water.
Toe in the Water Crew Bar – the perfect place to eat, meet and drink! The Toe in the Water Crew Bar features a large seating area, screens with race results, games such as Winch Grinding from Lewmar, as well as fantastic food from new caterers MuMu. The regatta’s official charity will also be putting their name above the door of the crew bar, and inside you will find the exclusive Toe in the Water Ale, (a percentage of the drink’s price goes to the charity). For other promotions exclusive to Peppermint Shepards wharf, see the competitor wristband offers.
MuMu – brand new for 2011, MuMu will be providing eat-in or take-out food from 7am till late. MuMu cater for all tastes with delicious breakfasts (with homemade bread and freshly roasted coffee), lunches (including takeaway) and informal social evening menus.
Club Infernos – Following last year’s sell out success, there will be a different theme every night of the week with DJ Pete Bristow playing the best music videos on large screens. It’s free entry for competitor wristband holders before 11pm and this year the luxurious Pier Bar will be available to everyone as part of Club Infernos.
Trade Village – a collection of sailing-related retail stands include Lewmar and Laser.
The Pier Bar – Bar and sun terrace with comfy seats and stunning views overlooking Shepards Wharf Marina and the River Medina. Available for private hire during the day and early evening at no charge (subject to minimum numbers). Class/function menus available on request.
Ladies Day on Tuesday will see FREE entry for all ladies into Club Infernos before 00:30.
Toe in the Water hosts their party on Wednesday with a “beer & curry” night, complete with winch grinding, tug-o-war and other team games.
The annual Mount Gay Red Cap Party returns this year on Thursday with a beach party theme.
A big party is planned for fireworks night on Friday and the Rolex Fastnet Race send-off party will be on the final Saturday in Club Infernos. More to be announced soon.
