With the summer getting closer and all festivals competing to attract more audience, it’s actually hard to keep track of what is going on. Headliners announcements, latest tickets releases, special guests added to the bill: we try and sum up a few of the latest news on upcoming festivals. Rad Fest Cancelled
The festival was suppsed to be set in Mid Wales – an “alternative Music Festival from RAD RADIO, featiring Classic Rock, Prog, Rock, Metal, Death Metal, Thrash and more”. The line up included the likes of Breed 77, Anubi, Hollow and Captain Horizon. Here the official announcement for cancellation “Due to very extremely poor ticket sales this festival is no longer financially viable therefore we have had to take the unfortunate step of cancelling the event. For the handful of people that kindly purchased a ticket Ticketline will supply the refund. We apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this brings.”
Sonar – more acts
Taking place every summer on sunny Barcelona, this year’s edition of Sonar will run from 12th to 14th June. Sonar is one of the most acclaimed festivals in Spain, featuring not only music but also shows, new media and art performances. Joining Massive Attak’s new show (highlight of the festival) there will be Richie Hawtin, 2Manydjs, Fluxx Pavillion, Rudimental and many others. Grace Jones headlines Hop Farm
Following the insuccess of 2013 (the family festival was cancelled a few months before the date), this year Hope Farm comes back under new management, from 4th to 6th July. Not only it will showcase new stages and areas (including a comedy corner) but it has also recently announced that pop culture icon Grace Jones will be their Sunday headliners. Well done, Hop Farmers!
More acts for Sziget
One of the biggest festivals in Europe (if not THE biggest), hungarian Sziget comes back this year from 11th to 18th of August for a week of music, food, theatre art&crafts and much more. The latest names added to the bill are Deadmou5, Axweel, The kooks and Crystal Fighters, who will join the previously confirmed La Roux, Calvin Harris and Prodigy.
