Business Development Manager

The purpose of this role is to manage the Sales side of the business, supporting the Managing Directors and leading a team to drive sales growth through new business development. The role will include pipeline management, oversight of timely response to tenders, supporting the directors in pitches for major new event contract as well as generating your own leads and new opportunities both in the core festival sector but also in new complimentary sectors such as sporting arenas and high footfall visitor attractions.

Core Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage the team ensuring clear performance objectives are set and regularly monitored via KPI’s and Sales targets
  • Coach and develop the team to ensure they have the necessary support to perform their role
  • Leading the entire sales process from start finish
    • Generating leads
    • Facilitating meetings & following up actions
    • Scheduling and delegating work flow
    • Oversight and leadership of preparation of pitch documents
    • Timely response to tender documents
    • Leadership of creation of sales collateral (with professional support where required)
    • Creating commercial deals and risk assessment
    • Working with the pitch writer to develop sales proposals
    • Negotiation with clients & prospects
    • Manage client relationships (new and existing)
    • Ensuring contracts are accurate and complete
    • Develop and monitor budgets per event
    • Coach team on best practice for managing client and contract issues
  • Assessing and managing commercial risk
  • Supporting and driving forward new business development strategies with the managing directors
  • Developing and measuring sales plans and targets in partnership with the team
  • Prepare regular sales & pipeline reports for the Managing Directors and Group
  • Pro-active drive to improve overall margin at every level. Ensuring minimum event margins are achieved at each event
  • Oversee efficient handover with the Project Management teams
  • Adhoc tasks and projects as required

Finance Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join an energetic company specialising in the field of festivals and events. The position provides a wide ranging varied role and is an integral part of the finance team. The ideal candidate will be a hardworking and articulate individual who wants to work in a fast paced environment.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Full ownership of accounts payable and accounts receivable function
• Inputting purchase invoices/credit notes, liaising with project managers to ensure correct allocations
• Credit control and help embed a strict control process
• Staff expenses and company credit card postings, ensure correct process and sign off is followed
• Statement reconciliations with supplier accounts
• Daily bank reconciliation including direct debits and debit card payments
• Office Petty cash control
• Various ad-hoc projects

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE SKILLS

• Proven previous experience in a similar role
• intermediate Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivot tables)
• Paprika Systems experience desirable

Account Director / Project Director – Equals Agency

A rare opportunity for a Account Director / Senior Events Producer to join Equals Agency; the experiential marketing services arm of Peppermint Events. The role will report directly to the Head of Agency / Client Services Director and is split into two core areas – business development and experiential project management. This is a role for someone who is looking to create something unique with their career.

Equals has a ‘start-up’ mentaltity, and any new recruit will have considerable autonomy and ability to shape the future of the agency in conjunction with the Head of Agency / Client Services Director. Our clients include Moët Hennessy, Heineken, Super Cell, Pernod Ricard and many more global brands.

With this in mind we are looking for an energetic and career-driven Account Director / Senior Event Producer who enjoys festivals, live events (brand activation, brand experience, corporate, contract, sports, agency and consumer). Reporting into the Head of Agency / Client Services Director, you will be responsible for effectively delivering on projects and campaigns and managing your tasks and time with a high degree of autonomy, consistency and attention to detail.

The Account Director / Senior Event Producer will be a key day to day client contact at senior brand manager and marketing manager level across multiple clients. You will build and maintain strong relationships with your clients, developing a culture of trust and leading positive relationships with team members and with all other key stakeholders while maintaining the agency’s ways of working. Other key responsibilities include:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Strong business development skills
  • Lead the scoping of projects in response to briefs using key response tools
  • Competently lead client strategy and include the strategy and planning team when appropriate

  • Work closely with CSD to develop pitch proposals

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Support the Client Services Director in the day to day running of the agency.
  • Direct and lead the delivery of the teams projects (on brief, on time, in budget)
  • Oversee regular project status meetings with your team
  • Ultimately accountable for each client’s budget and portfolio P&L, ensuring all budgets stay on track and projects deliver their GP and contribution targets
  • Understand the financial context (e.g. targets set) and be able to talk about it confidently using the appropriate terminology
  • Work with the senior managers reporting to you to scope and sign off full budgets, with input from all other appropriate departments, including clearly outlined R&R planning
  • Ensure strategic targets remain on track as projects progress
  • Deliver end of event reports of campaign results, including key stats and KPI’s achieved
  • Collect and use data to inform new campaigns and the evaluation of existing campaigns
  • Ensure that the Equals brand values are adhered to in campaigns and in all communication channels
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met, closely work with Procurememnt / CSD during the contract negotiation process understanding both commercial and creative objectives.

  • Producing regular reports including P & L’s for the CSD and managing directors of Peppermint

  • Ability to contribute to the creative aspects of a project
